And the picture-crazy blogging continues..

It was 78F in Chicago today. I can't explain the joy that sunshine and warmth bring after five long months of cold winter! Like little kids, my roomie and I ran up to the terrace and took a whole bunch of pics... :)

Enough said.

Patel's in da house!

So, what's a Patel rip? Its a very simple sequence of steps, shown below.

~ Book tickets to a popular destination
~ Take camera with you
~ Go to the popular destination(s)
~ Look for the signage in big letters
~ Take picture with the signage
~ Once you've established "been there done that", move onto the next location :)

No offense to Patels - its just a term -)

And by the way, I love Chicago. Proof of concept below!!

~ We saw the dyeing of the chicago river. Cool.
~ We saw 300 on IMAX, the world's largest screen. Hot.
~ We had world famous (er..) Giordano's stuffed pizza. Fullfilling.
~ We had Ghirardelli's sundaes. Heavenly.

Random me.

So, what was I saying? -) Yeah. Random me. Amidst a pretty crazy work week, I wonder what's kept me afloat, energetic and myself. Music! My twenty minute bus rides have become really enjoyable these days - me, myself and my pod. Some of the songs that I've played over and over again this week :-

~ Crazy - Gnarls Barkley

I didn't like Gnarls Barkley when I saw them live - but I love this song! Every time I'm out dancing and I hear that beat and the words 'I remember when...I remember when I lost my mind', I cut loose!! Something about that song that I can't resist! I was in ATL this weekend with two of my friends who like this song - we're walking to our cars from iHop and we heard somebody play this song in their car; we couldnt help but scream 'you drive me crazy......' together.

~ Loosu Penne - YSR

First time I heard this song was when I saw it on Sun Music. It sounded pretty random and I didn't like the rap piece (blaaze), especially the first part of the song...but this song has grown on me. Something haunting about it - is it the beat? is it the melody? is it the emotion? I don't know. But I ain't bored of it yet. I love the hum at the end of the song in particular and the delicious closing credit beats!

~ Karu karu vizhigalal - Harris Jeyaraj

I have no idea how to explain this song. You gotta know tamil, you gotta feel the words and the song gets to you.

~ New york nagaram - ARR

Awesome melody. Again, love the words, the melody, ARR's voice and the guitar. The "natkurippil nooru dhadavai" part is amazing :)

~ Madai Thirandhu remix by Natchathira and Yogi B

Brilliant fusion of hip hop, a sensational mottai song, a bit of nakkal, a bit of kalaignar's attitude and I can't stop bobbing my head when I listen to this. Anybody who's heard this song will recollect the word 'solromullaa' which just adds a pinch of nativity.
